Wow, I can speak again. After 40 hours of silence.

It's such an amazing experience to lose something so IMPORTANT and something that we just take for granted.

$40 (AUD) will feed 5 children in poverty for a MONTH. That's $8 a month per child, imagine, in today's world, what just $8 would get us. It wouldn't feed us for a DAY, yet alone 30 of them. And yet children go starving every single day of their lives because we're just that greedy. If everyone just gave ONE DOLLAR, just one, then we'd eliminate poverty from a few countries in Africa. To completely eliminate poverty, it'd only take a few billion dollars, and yet, we can't extend ourselves to that, the government spends at least double that amount every year on roads, etc. Things that we could do without.

So I hope that more people will do the 40Hr Famine next year, you don't have to give up food or anything, just something, to make you see how important things that we take for granted really are, because somewhere out there, there is a child who doesn't have sight or hearing or speech and never will because we just can't give a dollar.

My Dad bought me a new iPod Nano (Chronicle for you educated bodies.)! 16 gigs of music Ah, bliss.
Can't wait to put Season 1 of Life on it and then go and BUY SEASON 2. MUST BUY IN THE NEXT 20 DAYS. I am not materialistic, don't get me... right, but see, my season 1 dvd of Life is my most prized possession.

Anyhoo, I have a rather... depressing poem I'm deciding whether to upload, written in my more... Uh. Darker moments of life. And no, it wasn't PMS.

Uhm... I'm going to go and enjoy my iPod and read Dexter, because I have to be out the door and on the bus by 7 tomorrow morning! I'm at Dad's and it takes like 1hr for me to get to school by bus! But I love the bus, Melbourne buses are AWESOME! Seriously, I thought they'd be like the trains, dirty and uncomfortable, but they're easy to use, clean and COMFY SEATS! Verrrrrrrrrry nice.

Also, I read THE BEST BOOK ! It's called THE NAME OF THE WIND by PATRICK ROTHFUSS IT IS SO EPIC. WORDS CANNOT DESCRIBE IT. Take a looksee for his blog on Google, a pretty regular guy, I was surprised to discover! Not some hairy yeti in his mother's basement wearing a batman costume! SUCCESS! Honestly, it's THE BEST BOOK I've read in AGES! It ranks up there with Jacqueline Carey! (And Rothfuss sat on a board with her... ENVY)

Musicwise: Uhm... Found my old Eskimo Joe CD (Black Fingernails Red Wine) It's pretty awesome if you like... Coldplay and stuff. Also, Chris Vrenna is epic if you like Electronica and Ambient music, but he also has a few rock-ish stuff with other musicians.

Anyhoo, I'll try and update my journal more often, with little tidbits and stuff about good books, music, food, etc. Dumplings ftw!

I should probably get to bed... But I have applied for a job! Neat-o and I pretty much have my work experience set! Criminal Psych here I come! I'm probably too squishy for this kind of thing, but I am one curious bastard and I find myself more fascinated with murder than uhm... sympathetic? Sad? I dunno, I just wanna know what's going on in people's heads, I guess I just enjoy manipulation of the psyche. But I get to do work experience with my uncle and I just realised I actually get paid?! For following him around and doing some filing, etc.! SO IT SOUNDS EPIC! I <3 my Uncle, he's awesome He's a Barrister by the way, does Murders, Assaults, etc. Best place to start

You know what I hate? Artists, mainly webcomic artists, and then mainly furry webcomic artists, who, BEG FOR MONEY because they reckon they're too... 'Special' to get a friggin job.

YOU LAZY HOBOS, GET OFF YOUR WELL MANICURED ARSE AND GET A JOB. EARN SOME MONEY. AND QUIT BEING SUCH A SLOB.

This is because I'm getting a job and if I see one more news post on a webcomic asking for donations, I will scream.

Reckon Obama finds the 'White House' just the teeeeeeeeniest bit offensive? I mean REALLY. Why White? In today's day and age, wouldn't a neutral colour like Grey be better?
Either that or Obama paints it brown. Yes, that was almost racist, and no, I don't care what the difference between black and brown is.

... Why do people call 'brown' people, 'black'? I mean... Colourblind much?
